The Transdisciplinary Engineering (TE) Index Research Roadmap

Posted in: Uncategorised

TREND aims to create a Transdisciplinary Engineering (TE) Index which provides industry with a practical means through which to benchmark their current TE state and identify the focus of their improvements. Key to creating the Index is recognising the various dimensions (people, processes etc) which need to be considered to achieve effective TE working. In January 2020 the TREND researchers met for workshop to define the vision and route towards achieving a TE Index - a research roadmap.

Within the meeting the TREND research streams which directly feed into the TE Index were ratified.   The Researchers then spent time assessing the current and future desired state of each of the streams. That is, what research has been done, and what research needs to be done in order to achieve a TE Index.

The workshop proved a great success and has been fundamental in creating a shared vision and focus for the group.

Linda Newnes, Principle Investigator for the TREND Research Group will be presenting a keynote paper outlining the vision at The Transdisciplinary Engineering Conference TE2020, Warsaw, 6-10 July 2020.
